1. Different degrees of automation
The rebar cage welder is largely automated where all the work can be finished. The rebar winding machine requires workers to make stiffening rings in advance, and make the general form of cage by welding the main reinforcement bars and stiffening rings. The reinforcement winding machine only makes winding process of spiral rebar outside the reinforcement cage.
2. Different accuracy
The steel cage welder is numerically controlled with more accuracy and less error. According to the thickness difference of the main rebar and spiral rebar to be produced, some may occur diameter shrinkage and spiral rebar has slightly larger winding error.
3. Different prices
The rebar cage welding machine is more expensive because of higher automation and accuracy, while the steel cage winding machine is cheaper for the simplicity.
4. Different length
Equipment of standard length can fabricate 12 meters steel cage. The steel cage welder covers length for at least 20 meters and rebar cage winding machine only occupies for about 13 meters.
5. Different workers needed
It only needs 2 people for rebar cage welding machine in which two people load material together with one is responsible for welding. Rebar cage winding machine requires five workers then who need to weld the main rebar and stiffening ring with another one operating device.
